AI That Does the Work, Not Just the Demo
AI solutions for business are tools that take real work off your hands — answering enquiries around the clock, following up leads automatically, booking appointments, handling routine calls. The value is not the technology; it is a specific task done reliably at lower cost. The skill is knowing which tasks are worth automating today and which are not.
There is a lot of noise about AI, and most of it is unhelpful to a business owner trying to decide what to actually do. Metket sits alongside our marketing services as the team that builds practical AI systems — the unglamorous kind that quietly save hours a week rather than the kind that demos well and delivers nothing.
The honest starting point is that most businesses do not need an AI strategy. They need one or two specific problems solved: enquiries going unanswered overnight, follow-ups slipping through the cracks, a phone nobody has time to answer, a website that took three months to build. Each of those has an AI-shaped answer now, and each is worth doing only if the maths works. We start with the problem, not the technology.
How we decide what to automate.
Three questions before any AI project. If a task fails them, we say so.
Is it repetitive and rule-based enough?
AI is excellent at high-volume, consistent tasks and unreliable at rare, judgement-heavy ones. Answering common enquiries is a good fit. Handling a delicate complaint is not — and pretending otherwise damages the relationship you were trying to protect.
Does the volume justify the build?
Automating a task you do twice a month rarely pays for itself. The return comes from frequency. We size the opportunity in hours saved or enquiries captured before recommending a build, and turn projects down when the numbers do not work.
What happens when it gets something wrong?
Every AI system errs sometimes. The question is whether an error is cheap to catch or expensive to miss. We design for graceful failure — clear human handoff, logging, and boundaries — rather than assuming the system will always be right.
What our AI solutions include.

Connecting the tools you already use so routine work happens on its own — lead follow-up, bookings, reminders, review requests. Our AI automation service is where most businesses see the fastest return.
AI agents & chatbots
Assistants trained on your business that answer enquiries, qualify leads and support customers 24/7, then hand you only the conversations worth your time. Covered by AI agents and chatbots.
AI voice agents
Phone agents that answer inbound calls, book appointments and follow up — so a missed call stops being a missed customer. See AI voice agents.
AI web design & development
Using AI to ship sites faster and more affordably, with human judgement kept where it matters — conversion, brand and technical SEO. Our AI web design service, run with the wider web team.
Integration with what you already run
AI that does not talk to your CRM, calendar, inbox and website creates more work, not less. We connect systems properly so the automation fits how you already operate.
Honest scoping & measurement
We measure AI projects on the outcome — hours saved, enquiries captured, calls answered — not on how impressive the technology is. If a system is not earning its keep, we will tell you and turn it off.
Where AI earns its place fastest
The businesses that get the most from practical AI tend to share a pattern — high volumes of routine interaction and not enough hands to cover it:
How we work
How we run an AI project.
Start narrow, prove it works, then expand. Big-bang AI projects are how budgets get wasted.
Find the bottleneck
We look at where you actually lose time or customers — unanswered enquiries, slow follow-up, missed calls, manual data entry — and size each in hours or lost revenue. The biggest, most repetitive one wins.
Scope honestly
We tell you what AI can reliably do for that task, what it cannot, and what it will cost against what it should return. If the honest answer is that it is not worth it yet, that is the recommendation.
Build small and test
We build the narrowest useful version, run it alongside your existing process, and check it behaves before it touches real customers. AI that goes live untested is how businesses end up apologising to people.
Measure, then expand
Once one system is genuinely saving time or capturing enquiries, we widen it or automate the next bottleneck. Each step earns the next rather than everything being promised upfront.
The honest limits of AI right now
It would be easy to sell this as magic. It is not, and being straight about the limits is what makes the wins trustworthy. Current AI is genuinely good at answering common questions, following rules consistently, handling volume without tiring, and drafting routine content. It is unreliable at nuanced judgement, rare edge cases, anything requiring real-world context it was not given, and situations where being confidently wrong is expensive.
So the systems we build have boundaries. An AI agent answers what it knows and hands off what it does not. An automation follows clear rules and flags anything unusual for a human. This is deliberately less impressive than "AI runs your business", and considerably more useful, because it fails safely.
The other honest point: AI does not fix a broken process, it accelerates whatever process exists. Automating a bad follow-up sequence just sends bad follow-ups faster. We often find the highest-value first step is fixing the underlying workflow, and sometimes that is all a business actually needs.
Owning your AI, not renting a black box
A lot of AI products lock you in — your customer data, your conversation history and your configuration live inside someone else's platform, and leaving means losing all of it. We prefer to build systems you actually own, connected to your own accounts and tools, so the value stays with your business rather than the vendor.
That matters more than it first appears. The data your AI systems gather — the questions customers ask, the objections that come up, the calls that convert — is genuinely useful intelligence about your business, and it should be yours to keep and act on. It feeds better content, sharper ad targeting and a clearer picture of what your customers actually want. A closed platform that hoards that data hands you the tool but keeps the insight.
It also protects you as the technology moves. AI is changing fast, and being tied to one vendor's roadmap is a real risk. Systems built around your own accounts and open tools can adapt as better options appear, rather than leaving you stranded when a platform pivots, raises its prices, or shuts down.
Not to be confused with
This is not the same as AI SEO.
Two very different things share the letters "AI". This pillar is operational — tools that run your business. Our AI SEO service is about marketing visibility: getting your brand cited inside ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. Both matter, but they solve different problems and are handled by different people.

Buy outcomes, not hype
The AI market is in the phase every new technology goes through, where the marketing runs years ahead of the reality. Businesses are being sold transformation and delivered chatbots that frustrate their customers. That gap is exactly why we lead with what AI cannot do — because the trust you build by being honest about the limits is what makes the genuine wins land.
And the genuine wins are real. A service business that never misses a call captures jobs it used to lose to voicemail. A store whose common questions are answered instantly converts browsers who would have drifted away. A team that stops doing an hour of manual data entry a day gets that hour back permanently. None of that is science fiction; all of it is available now, and none of it requires an "AI strategy" — just a specific problem solved well.
The trap is treating AI as the goal rather than the tool. The goal is more captured customers, fewer wasted hours, lower cost to serve. If a whiteboard and a better process gets you there more cheaply than AI, we will tell you that too — which is not what most people selling AI right now are inclined to say.
If you have a task in mind, or just a nagging sense that something in your business is slower than it should be, that is the right place to start a conversation.

What can AI actually do for my business?
Reliably: answer common enquiries around the clock, follow up leads automatically, book appointments, handle routine phone calls, and remove repetitive manual work like data entry. Less reliably: anything needing fine judgement, rare edge cases, or where a confident wrong answer is costly. We scope to the first category and design safe handoffs for the second.
Do I need an "AI strategy"?
Almost certainly not. Most businesses need one or two specific tasks handled well, not a strategy. Starting from a real bottleneck — missed calls, slow follow-up — produces better results than starting from "we should use AI". We would rather solve a problem than sell you a roadmap.
How is this different from AI SEO?
They share the letters and nothing else. This is operational AI — tools that run inside your business. AI SEO is marketing — getting your brand cited in AI answers like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. Different problems, different teams. Most businesses eventually want both, rarely at once.
Will AI replace my staff?
The systems we build are aimed at work nobody wants to do — answering the same question for the hundredth time, chasing follow-ups, covering the phone at 9pm. The usual outcome is that your team stops doing the tedious parts and spends more time on the work that actually needs a person. We would be sceptical of anyone selling AI as a headcount-replacement; that is rarely how it plays out.
How much does an AI project cost?
It depends entirely on the task and how much integration it needs. A single automation connecting two tools is a modest project; a custom agent trained on your business with CRM and calendar integration is larger. We size the cost against the expected return before recommending anything, and turn down projects where the maths does not work.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
It will, occasionally — every system does. That is why we design for it: clear boundaries on what the AI handles, human handoff for anything outside them, and logging so mistakes are caught and corrected. A well-built system fails safely; a badly built one fails in front of your customers.
Can AI work with the tools I already use?
Usually, and it should. AI that does not connect to your CRM, calendar, inbox and website creates more work rather than less. Integration is most of the value — and most of the actual engineering — in any practical AI project.
Is it too early to invest in AI?
For some uses, honestly yes — the technology is not reliable enough for every task, and we will say so. For others — answering enquiries, booking, follow-up, missed calls — it is genuinely ready and the businesses adopting it now have a real edge. The answer depends on the specific task, which is what a first conversation is for.
